CBSE board examination of class 12 Geography includes 5 marks of identification items on world map. Those students who wish to aspire for cent percent marks must practice map items. Maps for now onwards will be of 10 marks i.e. 5 marks for identification of geographical items in World political map and another 5 marks for locating Geographical items in India political map.
Its has been my experience as CBSE examiner since last 10 years that most of students never take the maps seriously. Isn't it very awkward that all of them wish to secure good marks by cramming topics and lessons but rarely give maps any importance which may fetch them hefty marks in boards. They just loose marks.... I think if you practice maps you can score as easily as just appearing in the examination room.

During the last two weeks the Geography students of Class XI-C took part in the Google Smart Class Activity on Chapter 'Landforms and their Evolution' - Fluvial Landforms. They explored the different landforms through Google Earth, their characteristic features, change brought on them by Geomorphic Agents.
This activity included searching and viewing animations, images, panorama views, online articles, audio, inter-activities quizzes, close activities, multiple choice question for self assessing, assignments, and summaries.

The sun's magnetic field, which extends beyond Pluto and the
solar system, is just months away from flipping, Stanford’s Wilcox Solar observatory
measurements show. The sun's magnetic field changes polarity approximately
every 11 years during the peak of each solar cycle as the sun's inner dynamo
reorganizes itself.
"This change will have ripple effects throughout the
solar system," solar physicist Todd Hoeksema of Stanford University said
in a statement.
Scientists are already seeing signs of the reversal
happening, and this time there's a twist: the sun's two hemispheres are oddly
out of sync, with the North Pole already beginning to change and the South Pole
racing to catch up. That means that for now, at least, the sun effectively has
two South Poles.
What Does a Reversal Mean?
A reversal of the sun's magnetic field will have
consequences throughout the solar system. As the Earth orbits the sun the outer
space will become stormy. There is a risk of exposure to cosmic rays. Cosmic
rays pose a threat to astronauts and space probes, and some researchers say
they might also affect the cloudiness and climate of Earth.
Explanation: Acquiring
its first sunlit views of far northern Saturn late
last year, the Cassini spacecraft's narrow-angle camera recorded this
stunning image of the vortex at the ringed planet's north pole. The
false color, near-infrared image results in red hues for low clouds and
green for high ones, causing the north-polar hurricane to take on the appearance
of a rose. Enormous by terrestrial hurricane standards, this storm's eye is
about 2,000 kilometers wide, with clouds at the outer edge traveling at over 500
kilometers per hour. The north pole Saturn hurricane swirls inside the large, six-sided weather pattern known as the hexagon. Of
course, in 2006 Cassini also imaged the hurricane at Saturn's south pole.
You will see a "conjunction", as seen above in the picture taken by me from New Delhi India, of the crescent moon with two bright planets - Venus and Jupiter - this evening. Today, in the early evening, go out as soon as it starts getting dark and look south west, where the sun sets. Look for the thin crescent Moon. "The very bright 'evening star' just to the left of the moon is the planet Venus. “The other bright star above to the right of the moon is Jupiter." This will be visible for about two hours after the sun has set, for one evening only. "If you watch closely enough, you will notice the moon moving eastwards in its orbit around the Earth - the gap between Jupiter and the Moon will increase slightly. No equipment is necessary and it can be seen even from brightly-lit cities such as New Delhi.
